Smile Design Principles

Your new smile starts with in-depth planning by Dr. Maya, the head dentist at our facility in Motor City. She takes photos of your smile for digital imaging and study impressions of your teeth, measurements of your teeth and facial proportions.

She uses smile design guides to help you choose the kind of smile you would like to have.

Study models are made from the impressions of your teeth which she studies to see how the teeth meet. The study models also enable us to see, and show you, factors about your teeth that cannot otherwise be seen.

For treatment with several veneers, we create a “wax-up” by adding wax to the study model that the doctor manipulates into the final product. This tool not only helps to plan your treatment, but it also gives you a visual of what your smile will look like. If you don’t like anything, we can easily change the wax-up until you are fully satisfied with your future smile’s appearance.

In some cases, we make a temporary veneer out of the study model to better simulate the final restoration.

Veneer preparation

In your second visit Dr. Maya prepares your teeth to receive the veneers and attaches temporary veneers while your final veneers are being fabricated by the dental specialists at our lab in Dubai. Teeth usually need to be shaved down a bit so that the new fittings do not bulk up their form. We give our clients in Dubai the option of local anesthetic to ensure comfort.

Application of the Finalized Fitting

Next, your teeth are roughened slightly by etching to allow for a strong bonding process, then a bonding cement is applied to the veneer and the veneer is placed on your tooth. A special light is applied that quickly hardens the cement. Excess cement is removed, and any final adjustments are made to the new fittings and your bite (how the teeth come together).
